Full Bio / WikiEzra Vale was born January 23, 2001, in the Salt Lake Valley beneath the Wasatch, into a family with roots reaching back generations in that same place. Family harmony singing was his first entry point into music — voices layering together long before he ever picked up an instrument of his own.
From there he found his way into the indie-folk and nu-folk wave, drawing on Mumford & Sons' communal choruses, Fleet Foxes' stacked harmony, and Adrianne Lenker's plainspoken intimacy, folding all three into a way of writing that reads like a private journal but, once the full band arrives, sounds like a congregation. Three words get him close enough: introspective, earnest, communal.
He builds a song the way his family builds a harmony — one voice at a time, until what started private becomes communal without anyone announcing the shift. He thinks of a crossroads as something a whole family eventually stands at together, not just one person alone. Patient, generous, rooted.
