Contact
SPATIALx Media is operated by SPATIALX LTD, company number 10831538. For questions about this Privacy Policy, to exercise your data protection rights or to raise a concern, email Shopify@spatialx.io or write to 167–169 Great Portland Street, 5th Floor, London W1W 5PF, United Kingdom. SPATIALX LTD is the data controller for the processing described in this policy, subject to the separate roles described in the Shopify disclosures above.
Listening pass, first-order offer and interests
Listening registration and the first-order offer
You can browse our site and listen to SPATIALx Radio without registering. Where the listening pass is offered, you can also use guest music previews of up to 30 seconds. Registering for that free pass provides access to the streaming content made available beyond the guest preview and the first-order offer displayed with signup. It does not verify your identity or grant ownership of downloadable products.
We collect your email address to associate the registration and first-order offer with your customer profile and to deal with requests you make about them. Your first name and interest questions are optional. Where you give your name, we use it to address you and identify the details you submitted. If you choose not to provide the required email address, you can continue browsing, listening to SPATIALx Radio and using guest previews.
We rely on our legitimate interests in operating the optional registered listening service, managing first-order offer eligibility and responding to related requests for these uses. We limit the required registration information to your email address and do not treat registration as permission for marketing. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests by contacting us; we will consider your request in accordance with applicable law. We may not be able to maintain your registered profile or assess an unused offer if the information needed for those purposes is removed.
Your interests are optional
The form may ask which music, books, genres or types of release interest you. You can skip these questions and still receive the listening pass and first-order offer. We use the answers to understand our audience in aggregate, relying on our legitimate interests in understanding the releases our listeners and readers value. If you separately choose email marketing, we may also use your stated interests to make those emails relevant, on the basis of your marketing consent.
Selecting a genre is not permission to send marketing. We do not infer sensitive characteristics, such as religious beliefs or political opinions, from your music or book preferences. You can ask us to correct or remove your stated interests, or object to their use for audience analysis, by emailing Shopify@spatialx.io.
Marketing is a separate choice
For listening-pass signup, marketing emails about SPATIALx music, books and offers are sent only if you choose the separate email-marketing option. That checkbox is optional and is not selected in advance. You do not have to subscribe to receive the pass or the first-order offer.
You can unsubscribe through any marketing email or by contacting Shopify@spatialx.io. Withdrawing marketing consent does not remove listening access, cancel an offer already provided under its terms, or affect purchased downloads. We may still send messages needed to answer your request or fulfil an order; we do not use that exception to send promotions.
We retain a record of your marketing choice and changes so we can honour it. Where necessary, a limited suppression record remains after an unsubscribe to prevent further marketing, rather than accidentally adding you again.
Shopify Forms and browser storage
We use Shopify and Shopify Forms to process form submissions and customer records. The Shopify disclosures elsewhere in this policy also apply to information submitted through this feature.
After successful registration, we use local storage in your browser named sx-listening-pass-v1 to remember the listening pass you request on that browser for up to 90 days. It contains the pass version, form identifier and expiry time, not your name or email address. We use that marker for listening access, separately from advertising, analytics and marketing permission. The form submission itself is stored by Shopify as described above.
The marker can expire sooner if the registration form changes or you clear your browser data. It is specific to the browser and website address where it was saved. If persistent storage is unavailable, access may be remembered only for the current page session. You can remove the marker by clearing site data for spatialx.media in your browser.
Where the “Already registered?” option is available, you can restore an existing listening pass on another browser or device by signing in with the same email address through Shopify customer accounts. Shopify verifies access to that email address through its sign-in process. We use the listening-pass tag on your customer profile to recognise your existing registration and remember access in the current browser. Signing in does not change your saved interests or email marketing choices. The initial listening-pass form and browser marker themselves are not a verified-email or password-protected account.
How long we keep these records
We keep registration and first-order eligibility records while they are needed to provide or administer your pass or offer and to respond to related requests. We review inactive profiles periodically and remove or minimise information that is no longer needed. The 90-day browser-marker lifetime is separate from the retention of information in Shopify.
Optional interests are kept until you change or ask us to remove them, or until the profile is no longer needed. Marketing consent evidence and limited suppression records are kept as needed to demonstrate and honour your choices. Purchase and payment records are retained separately as needed to fulfil orders and meet applicable accounting, tax, dispute and other legal obligations. The general retention and rights sections of this policy continue to apply.
