Plane Fact (Group)
Active · Resident of Project REPLICA
Plane Fact are Zay Mercer and Selah, a New York-and-London duo making cinematic gospel rap about language, consent and the words people inherit. He diagnoses in calm, close-mic verses; she answers with held-note certainty. Their voices remain separate until the point of meeting has been earned.
The Group's members are Zay Mercer / Isaiah Mercer, Selah. It is active from 2026–present as a resident of Project REPLICA on FARA Records.
Origins
A mutual contact sent Selah one of Zay's dense voice-note arguments. She returned a single held-note answer and then challenged the idea that diagnosis alone could count as truth. Their remote exchange became Plane Fact when both agreed to keep the argument and hope separate until the music earned their meeting.
The source anchor for the Group is: No first-meeting story or date is supplied. The locked structural story is two truths held apart until unison is earned.

Formation and member roles
Zay carries close, calm diagnostic rap; Selah carries the warm, hopeful sung register. They are equal and neither features the other.
Zay tests whether the claim survives scrutiny; Selah tests whether it leaves room for a person to change. He edits excess explanation, she removes uplift that has not been earned.
Musical style and method
Plane Fact works across cinematic rap, gospel rap, orchestral hip-hop, gospel/R&B.
Drafts alternate rather than overlap. Zay develops the language and cadence; Selah develops the sung answer independently; the bridge is constructed last and only after both sides stand alone.
The recurring themes are language, Word theology, consent, education versus recitation, inherited self-description, chosen speech.
Public image
Two pools of light on opposite sides of a long stage, with strings and the final shared line opening a central path. Neither performer crosses into the other's visual register too early.
Equal New York/London perspective, close-mic concentration, restrained strings/light, lecture calm and open certainty.
Subway tile and London stone, ruled notebook margins, church-window daylight used sparingly, terrarium glass and warm string-amber against cool city blue; no preacher staging.

AURA Live
AURA Live brings Plane Fact into physical venues as full-scale Project REPLICA presences. The Group's live image preserves every member's identity and role while translating its shared performance language into the room.

Realisation
Plane Fact is an openly AI-realised Group from FARA Records under human writing, direction, curation, editing and final approval. The making of the work remains part of the work.
