Full Bio / Wiki
VITRINE (Cora Mellor, b. 4 May 2003) is from Watford — a large, ordinary town at the end of a line, twenty minutes and an entire world from central London. She left school at eighteen into the job that made this record: three years on a cosmetics counter in the shopping centre. That isn’t colour, it’s the source. She learned the actual mechanics of how a face is constructed and taken apart, performed it on several hundred strangers and on herself, and developed a completely unsentimental understanding of what a beautiful surface costs to maintain and how quickly it comes off.

She found music late and sideways, on a laptop in the evenings after shifts, using found sound before she used instruments — the clicks and taps in her tracks started as recordings of the counter itself. She had no interest in writing songs and considerable interest in building textures; the songs arrived afterwards because she had things to say and no other way of saying them.

She has considerably more voice than she uses, and the withholding is the technique — producers keep asking her to open up on the chorus, and she keeps declining. Polite and completely immovable, three years of retail gave her a customer-facing manner she can deploy at will and a very precise sense of when she’s being managed. Contained, observant, unbiddable.

What they are

VITRINE is an AI-realised act from FARA Records — Fully Artificial, Radically Authentic, the AI-native label of SPATIALx. The lyrics, emotional brief, arrangement and production behind every act on the label come from human writers and directors. Suno renders the vocal and musical takes from there, and the results are handed back to be curated, re-prompted, edited and mastered until they say exactly what they were built to say. We don't hide any of it — the seams are part of the art. This isn't AI filler standing in for a band. It's real songwriting, real direction, and a voice that didn't exist before.
