RED TAPE are Cole Ferris and Wren Castillo, a two-person Southern California punk group turning approval culture into communal release. Cole brings the strained guitar-and-vocal impact; Wren enters where a precise second voice changes the argument from private frustration to shared weight.
The Group's members are Cole Ferris, Wren Castillo. It is active from 2026–present as a resident of Project REPLICA on FARA Records.
Origins
Cole circulated a fast, unfinished version through the local all-ages network. Wren did not offer to sing throughout; she marked the one bar where a second voice would turn a rant into a shared argument. Their first rehearsal kept that economy and established the two-person rule.
The source anchor for the Group is: Working canon places them in the same skate-punk/DIY/all-ages network. Wren joined specifically for Permission Denied; long-term post-debut permanence remains open.
Formation and member roles
Cole carries lead vocal/guitar and first impact; Wren supplies exact backing/duet placement that changes the argument.
Cole moves first and names the obstruction; Wren waits until her entry changes the emotional geometry. She can take larger future leads without turning the debut mechanism into a permanent limit.
