Early life

Yejun grew up in Seoul with an unusual sensitivity to small changes — the exact moment the light moved, the weather turning, or a scene in a film that everyone else seemed able to shrug off. He discovered his high range singing quietly to himself, drawn to the way a soft falsetto could float above a full arrangement without needing to force its way through.

Formation and the exposed line

When POLARIS formed, four distinct registers settled into one shared structure: Junseo’s warm tenor anchoring the promise, Yejun’s airy falsetto opening the most fragile space, Raon’s melodic rap carrying the interior point of view, and Haeon’s dance-centre energy turning the final chorus into a physical event. Yejun remains one member of that balanced act rather than a separate solo identity, but his role is precise — hold the delicate line steadily enough that the group can become quiet around it.

Musical style

Yejun’s voice is light, controlled and expressive, built around breath and placement rather than volume. On the debut single 별빛 No Man’s Star (노맨스 랜드), a 120 BPM track in A♭ major, he carries the exposed piano-bridge colour and the highest, most fragile note in the final chorus. The contrast matters: his soft register does not withdraw from the group’s cinematic scale; it gives that scale a human centre.

Public image

On stage and on camera, Yejun reads as luminous and emotionally open, fragile-strong rather than weak. Ash-silver hair and a cold starlight silver-white accent mark him inside the debut’s four-colour system, but those are release-specific choices rather than the whole identity. The durable image is a clearly adult South Korean performer with natural skin texture, controlled posture and an expression that can remain tender without being styled as juvenile.

Cultural impact and fandom

POLARIS has not needed a formal fandom name for the members’ own details to become shorthand. Within the group’s established lore, Yejun is known for tearing up at the exposed piano bridge in rehearsal, every time — a small sign that the section he carries still reaches him even after repetition. Fans read his silver-white marker as the most delicate line inside the group’s shared north-star concept, while the group balance remains central: Junseo, Yejun, Raon and Haeon are four distinct people serving one story.

POLARIS is built around a signal crossing distance to reach the people it belongs to, and Yejun carries the line where that signal feels most exposed. AURA Live, SPATIALx’s system for bringing Project REPLICA residents into physical venues as full-scale live holograms, gives that delicate register a literal room: cold starlight defining the edge of the figure while a real audience stands close enough to hear the breath before the highest note.

Yejun and POLARIS are composed and voiced by artificial intelligence (Suno) under human creative direction. The lyrics and cinematic concept originate with Jonathan M.A. White and SPATIALx Media’s writers and directors, who curate, re-prompt, edit and master every take.
