SEMAPHORE (Group)
Active · Resident of Project REPLICA
SEMAPHORE are Theo Vane and Margot Avery, a Camden duo making elegant new wave from everything people communicate before they say it plainly. Theo withholds; Margot answers in synth colour and harmony. The charge lives in the interval between signal and response.
The Group's members are Theo Vane, Margot Avery. It is active from 2026–present as a resident of Project REPLICA on FARA Records.
Origins
A shared Camden rehearsal night left Margot at the keys while Theo worked through a chorus he kept reducing. Her harmony supplied information the lyric refused to state. They did not resolve the disagreement; they named the method SEMAPHORE and kept the charged space between them.
The source anchor for the Group is: The first harmony that opened one of Theo's withheld choruses established the act's mechanism. Exact first meeting/date are not supplied.

Formation and member roles
Theo carries controlled lead/lyric tension; Margot carries synths, keys, answering voice and harmonic release.
Theo protects ambiguity in language; Margot protects emotional legibility in harmony. Their friction is editorial, not romantic proof or interpersonal drama.
Musical style and method
SEMAPHORE works across new wave, synth-pop, art-pop, power-pop edge.
Theo brings a lyric with one deliberate absence. Margot answers with bass movement, chord colour or a vocal line. They stop when the signal can be read without being explained.
The recurring themes are coded communication, romantic ambiguity, signals, delay, city-night electricity, style as armour and invitation.
Public image
Theo remains economical at the front edge while Margot opens the chorus from glowing keys. Distance and eye-line function like call-and-response; neither is background.
Two emotional temperatures in one frame: cool line and warm movement, signal red/green, chrome, reflections and city light.
Add Camden daylight, canal reflections, second-hand shops, rain on bus glass and rehearsal-room tungsten so the identity works beyond debut neon.

AURA Live
AURA Live brings SEMAPHORE into physical venues as full-scale Project REPLICA presences. The Group's live image preserves every member's identity and role while translating its shared performance language into the room.

Realisation
