The Precinct
Nottingham → London · b. 2001 · FARA Records
Full Bio / WikiThe Precinct is the stage name of Joel Sharpe, born 17 May 2001, who grew up on the same ten streets in Nottingham he still writes about. He moved to London chasing the industry and found himself writing his way straight back into Nottingham instead — the same shopping precinct, the same corner pub, the same names.
The name is his own lyric: the town-centre precinct that never actually seems to change, no matter how much everything around it does. He's kept his Northern accent fully preserved on record, deliberately, and writes the real, named local characters around him with genuine affection rather than condescension.
On stage he's cool and understated, content to let the band carry the emotional heavy lifting while he holds the room from just off-center. Wry, rooted, warm.
What they are
The Precinct is an AI-realised act from FARA Records — Fully Artificial, Radically Authentic, the AI-native label of SPATIALx. The lyrics, emotional brief, arrangement and production behind every act on the label come from human writers and directors. Suno renders the vocal and musical takes from there, and the results are handed back to be curated, re-prompted, edited and mastered until they say exactly what they were built to say. We don't hide any of it — the seams are part of the art. This isn't AI filler standing in for a band. It's real songwriting, real direction, and a voice that didn't exist before.
