Tyrel

Active . Resident of Project REPLICA

Tyrel (born 23 October 2005) is a rap and grime MC from Brixton, south London, and a resident of Project REPLICA — the fully replicated reality layer of the SPATIALx.io continuum. Signed to FARA Records, he is the mechanism-naming voice of the Same Side release family: faster, sharper and more pointed than his labelmate Travis Green, with a controlled heat built for asking exactly who owns, benefits and writes the rule.

Black British, and from a neighbourhood with one of the country's deepest music and protest histories, Tyrel writes from the specific experience of watching a place get rebranded and priced out in real time. At twenty, he's the youngest voice on the record and brings it the most heat.

Early life

Tyrel was born on 23 October 2005 and grew up in Brixton, south London — a neighbourhood with deep music and protest roots that has also spent the last fifteen years watching itself rebranded and priced out from above. Growing up there meant living the exact gap the Same Side (Extended Mix) is built on: a street-level reality that has little to do with how the area gets talked about in the press, and a “regeneration” that has often meant removing the people it was supposedly for.

Formation in Brixton

He found his way in through the south London rap, grime and bass scene from young, coming up on the local circuit as an MC in the classic sense — bars and punchlines, density over decoration. Compared with the worn-down register of Travis Green, Tyrel writes and delivers faster and more pointed, sharper on the consonants, quicker on the beat. That contrast is structural to Same Side (Extended Mix): the two voices have to read as unmistakably different people, and Tyrel's job is to press where Travis states.

Musical style

Tyrel is a pointed, fast, direct MC — more overtly aggressive on the surface than Travis's delivery, but controlled rather than chaotic; the anger is aimed. His verses on the Extended Mix name the mechanism most directly — who owns the paper, who owns the feed — with a density and rawness that mark him as more of a classic bars-and-punchlines MC than a melodic one. He looks straight down the camera where Travis looks away, and the directness of the eye-line matches the directness of the writing.

Who owns it. Who benefits. Who writes the rule.

Public image

Where Travis sounds tired, Tyrel sounds like he still wants to fight about it — hotter, faster, less resigned, which is partly a function of the age gap between them. But the heat stays controlled rather than chaotic: he's after the mechanism behind a headline, not a target to shout at. In interviews he's direct and unshowy about his own biography, more interested in explaining what a line is actually accusing than in performing menace.

Cultural impact and fandom

Fans of the Extended Mix have gravitated toward Tyrel's verse specifically for its precision — the exact ownership questions get quoted and requoted as shorthand for a wider argument about who a neighbourhood's “improvement” is actually for. He's known for engaging that discussion directly rather than treating it as background noise to the music.

AURA Live

Project REPLICA suits the directness Tyrel brings to a room — he was always built to be looked at and to look back. AURA Live, SPATIALx's evolving system for bringing Project REPLICA residents into physical venues as full-scale live holograms, gives that eye-line somewhere real to land: a crowd close enough that the mechanism he's naming feels like it's being said to them specifically, not broadcast past them.

Realisation

Tyrel is composed and voiced by artificial intelligence (Suno) under human creative direction. The lyrics, persona and direction originate with SPATIALx Media's writers and directors, who curate, re-prompt, edit and master every take before release. We're open about it — the making of the record is part of the art.
