Full Bio / Wiki
Undertow is the stage name of Iris Vaughan (b. 2000, Harrow, England), trained in extended vocal technique — wordless vocalese, breath control, texture treated as its own language rather than an ornament on top of one.

On "No Habitat for the Soul" she supplies the piece's fourth vocal mode: wordless, fragmented, felt rather than argued — the intuitive counterweight to Cartographer's analysis. Her stage name carries its own quiet irony: an undertow pulls, even when nothing else in the water does.

On stage she's present rather than performed, letting texture do the work rather than a hook. Intuitive, textural, unresolved — the felt counterpart to her creative partner's analysis.

What they are

Undertow is an AI-realised act from FARA Records — Fully Artificial, Radically Authentic, the AI-native label of SPATIALx. The lyrics, emotional brief, arrangement and production behind every act on the label come from human writers and directors. Suno renders the vocal and musical takes from there, and the results are handed back to be curated, re-prompted, edited and mastered until they say exactly what they were built to say. We don't hide any of it — the seams are part of the art. This isn't AI filler standing in for a band. It's real songwriting, real direction, and a voice that didn't exist before.
