Full Bio / WikiBliss (Beatrice Hartley) grew up in quiet commuter-belt England — big grey skies, not much to do, a bedroom and a broadband connection. A deeply online kid, she routed friendships, tastes and feelings through the glow, then bolted for Miami the first chance she got: heat, neon and noise, the total opposite of the home counties. The whiplash between the two — and between the bright online performance and the quieter loneliness underneath — is what her music is about.
She found her sound making chaotic, glitchy pop on a laptop in her bedroom, discovering that hyperpop gave her a language loud and broken enough to match how the internet actually feels. Her influences run through the PC Music lineage — SOPHIE, A. G. Cook, Charli XCX — plus 100 gecs, glaive, Y2K digital nostalgia and the meme-literate, ironic-but-aching tone of a Gen-Z kid raised online.
On stage she's hyper, funny, fast and self-aware — glitchy patter, deadpan British wit at maximum volume, chronically-online-bestie energy — but she breaks the fourth wall about the sadness too, dropping the bit for one honest line before launching back into the noise. She took the name "Bliss" half as a joke — a girl who feels numb, named after a feeling she can't reach — and half because it's the name of the Windows XP wallpaper she grew up staring at. Witty, overstimulated, tender.
