STERLING
Watford, Hertfordshire · b. 2008 · FARA Records
Full Bio / WikiSTERLING (Kai Rowan, b. 15 September 2008) grew up in Watford, just outside London on the commuter line — near enough to the city to feel its pull, far enough to have to build his own way in. The quieter, sharper half of the pair: a focused, clever teenager who'd rather write a better bar than say a louder one. He's the one with the pen and the plan, writing every verse out in full before he records a word, and he's still building the music around his studies — the bedroom-to-online route, one clip at a time.
He found music writing before recording — bars first, always. He linked with Royal T (from up the road in Harrow) online, they traded verses over hard beats, and the contrast clicked: Royal T sells it, Sterling closes it. His influences run the same melodic autotune-rap and UK rap-pop crossover wave as his partner, but leaning to the lyrical, punchline-and-pen side of it — the internet-native, hook-first pop sensibility.
On stage he's the quieter, sharper half — grounded and composed where Royal T is loud and smooth. He lets the bars do the talking. Focused, clever, grounded.
What they are
STERLING is an AI-realised act from FARA Records — Fully Artificial, Radically Authentic, the AI-native label of SPATIALx. The lyrics, emotional brief, arrangement and production behind every act on the label come from human writers and directors. Suno renders the vocal and musical takes from there, and the results are handed back to be curated, re-prompted, edited and mastered until they say exactly what they were built to say. We don't hide any of it — the seams are part of the art. This isn't AI filler standing in for a band. It's real songwriting, real direction, and a voice that didn't exist before.
