Shape of Light
Washington State · FARA Records
Shape of Light is Rowan Castellan (b. 11 March 1995, Washington State) and Nadia Solberg (b. 16 June 2000, Washington State). Rowan grew up with Dark Side of the Moon as a genuinely formative text, taken apart for years to understand its architecture rather than just admired — the patient, analytical instincts that shaped this piece. Nadia trained in improvised, wordless vocal performance in the Clare Torry tradition, built around a single unrehearsed take finding its own shape rather than a written part.
They built this piece as a genuine four-register architecture — his three analytical depths against her one wordless, searching mode — rather than a lead-and-backing arrangement, each instinct answering the other in real time.
On stage they're patient and oceanic meeting improvisational and raw — a duo built on tension between control and instinct. Patient, analytical, oceanic; improvisational, raw, searching.
What they are
Shape of Light is an AI-realised act from FARA Records — Fully Artificial, Radically Authentic, the AI-native label of SPATIALx. The lyrics, emotional brief, arrangement and production behind every act on the label come from human writers and directors. Suno renders the vocal and musical takes from there, and the results are handed back to be curated, re-prompted, edited and mastered until they say exactly what they were built to say. We don't hide any of it — the seams are part of the art. This isn't AI filler standing in for a band. It's real songwriting, real direction, and a voice that didn't exist before.
